Sebastian Sanchez

Managing Director

Sebastian Sanchez assumed the role of Managing Director at Athenian Brewery on April 1, 2025. Originally from Argentina, he brings extensive experience in the brewing industry, having held leadership positions within the HEINEKEN Group for over 20 years.

He began his career with the company in 2004 as Heineken Brand Manager in Argentina and later became Country Manager. He then moved to Panama as Marketing & Commerce Manager and subsequently served as Regional Marketing Director for Central and Eastern Europe. He has also served as Managing Director of Windward & Leeward Brewery Ltd., a HEINEKEN subsidiary in Saint Lucia. Before taking on his role in Greece, he served for four years as Managing Director of HEINEKEN Panama, where he led the company to the top of the local market.

Αμαλια Κοντογιαννη

Digital & Technology Director

Η Αμαλία Κοντογιάννη ανέλαβε τη θέση της Διευθύντριας Digital & Technology από τον Μάιο του 2024. Η Αμαλία εντάχθηκε στην Αθηναϊκή Ζυθοποιία τον Απρίλιο του 2019 ως Media & Digital Manager στη Διεύθυνση του Marketing για το σύνολο των μαρκών της Αθηναϊκής Ζυθοποιίας.
Ξεκίνησε την καριέρα της στα media το 2007 στον παγκόσμιο όμιλο IPG έχοντας για την ευθύνη της διαφημιζόμενους όπως η Unilever, Samsung, Toyota τόσο για την Online όσο και την offline media παρουσία τους. Το 2013 αποφάσισε να εξερευνήσει περαιτέρω τις δυνατότητες του Digital Marketing αναλαμβάνοντας το ρόλο της Project Development Director στην Rubicon.gr, ενώ το 2015 επέστρεψε πίσω στα media και στον όμιλο Group M για να διαχειριστεί ως Media Manager μάρκες αναψυκτικών της Coca-Cola. Τον Φεβρουάριο του 2016 μετακινήθηκε στην Coca-Cola Hellas ως Media Specialist συμβάλλοντας περαιτέρω στην ολιστική digital media στρατηγική.
Στον νέο ρόλο η Αμαλία θα συνδιαμορφώσει και θα οδηγήσει τη φιλοδοξία της Αθηναϊκής Ζυθοποιίας να γίνει η καλύτερα συνδεδεμένη ζυθοποιία (Best-Connected Brewer) στο ταξίδι μας για να διαμορφώσουμε το μέλλον της μπίρας και πέρα από αυτήν και να κερδίσουμε τις καρδιές των καταναλωτών & καταναλωτριών μας.

Amalia Kontogianni

Digital & Technology Director
Amalia Kontogianni took up the position of Digital & Technology Director from May 2024. Amalia joined Athenian Brewery in April 2019 as Media & Digital Manager in the Marketing Department for all Athenian Brewery’s brands. Amalia started her career in media in 2007 at the global IPG group, being responsible for advertisers such as Unilever, Samsung, Toyota for both their online and offline media presence. In 2013 she decided to further explore the possibilities of Digital Marketing by taking on the role of Project Development Director at Rubicon.gr, while in 2015 she returned to media and the M Group to manage Coca-Cola’s soft drink brands as Media Manager. 
In February 2016, she moved to Coca-Cola Hellas as Media Specialist in order to further contribute to the company’s holistic digital media strategy. In her new role, Amalia will co-shape and lead Athenian Brewery’s ambition to become the Best-Connected brewer on its journey to shape the future of beer and win the hearts of consumers.

Evi Kyttari

Legal Director

Evi Kyttari has been the Legal Director at Athenian Brewery since February 2024, becoming the youngest member of the Management Team.
Evi has a rich legal expertise, not only in law firms, but also as a legal advisor of companies, taking on important roles during her career. After completing her internship, she began her career as an associate in law firms before joining the Hellenic Ministry of National Economy and Finance, where she was employed as a lawyer providing legal services on important issues of privatizations taking place at the time. From 2010 until 2016, she returned to law as partner in two law firms. In 2016, she joined “Fraport” where she closely worked with top management for four years in order to realize the plan of the newly back then established company to manage 14 regional airports of Greece. From 2020 until 2023, she assumed the role of Head of the Legal Department at “Vodafone”.

Management

Finance Director

Shankar joined HEINEKEN in September 2010 as CFO at HEINEKEN Sri Lanka. In 2016, Shankar was promoted to the position of Chief Financial Officer at HEINEKEN Myanmar, where he played a key role in the company’s spectacular growth, helping to increase its profits.

After 3.5 years in Myanmar, Shankar assumed the role of Business Controller for the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, a role he held since August 2019. He had a substantial input into the APAC Strategic and Annual Planning process and acting as business partner to the Regional CEO covering more than 10 companies (OpCo’s).

In his new role as CFO of Athenian Brewery, Shankar will co-shape and lead, together with the local Management Team, the implementation of the Evergreen strategy focusing on continuous value creation by focusing on the pillars of both Growth and Cost & Value.

Τhanasis Spyridonis

Marketing Director

Thanasis Spyridonis is the Marketing Director in Athenian brewery since 2020.

He started his career in Marketing in 2009 at Unilever Hellas. In 2013, he moved to the Unilever HQ in Rotterdam where he took the role of Regional Brand Manager UK & Ireland for the Spreads category. In 2015, he undertook the role of Regional Brand Manager for the Nordic countries. In August 2015, he moved to Philips headquarters in Amsterdam as Senior Consumer Marketing Manager for food preparation appliances, whereas in November 2016 he took the role of Consumer Marketing Director for the same category. At the same time, he led the development of important strategic partnerships for Philips Kitchen Appliances. In February 2020, Thanasis assumed the role of the Consumer Marketing Director of OneBlade within Philips Male Grooming, being responsible for the global strategy, innovation and the go to market approach.

Yiannis Georgakellos

Director of Communications & Corporate Affairs

Yiannis Georgakellos took over the position of Director of Communications & Corporate Affairs in July 2019.

Yiannis Georgakellos started his career at Athenian Brewery in 1998, taking positions in various departments of the company such as Marketing, Sales, Logistics and Production. The Commercial department was the one that won him over, where among others he took over the positions of Trade Marketing Manager, Customer Care & Sales Services Manager, and Marketing Manager Innovation, Media & Sponsorships leading the agenda of innovation and new launches. Since October 2018, he has held the position of Marketing Manager for Greek Brands and Innovation, working together with his team on the new advertising campaigns of ALFA and MAMO and the launch of NYMFI.

Eleni Drakopoulou

Director of Human Resources

Eleni Drakopoulou is the Director of Human Resources department at Athenian Brewery,  since April 2018.

She worked for Warner Lambert, where she took up various HR positions mainly in the fields of Employee Attraction, Training and Development. In 2001 she moved to Diageo Hellas, where she held the positions of Capability Development Manager and later Organizational Development & Rewards Manager. In 2005 she joined the Coca-Cola Hellenic Headquarters, as HR Manager for the company’s international team. In 2008, she moved to Cyprus, in order to play a key role in integrating CCH systems and culture following the recent acquisition of the bottling company. In 2010, she returned to the Headquarters, taking on a Regional / International HR role, initially responsible for IT teams in 28 countries, and then for the entire new department responsible for Business Systems & Solutions, which included staff from various Coca-Cola Hellenic divisions. At the same time, she was in charge of HR issues for the newly established Finance Shared Services Center in Sofia, Bulgaria. In 2014, she moved to Green Cola, a new innovative business, where the main challenge for her was to develop a culture that would support the company in order to form a dynamic and unique business model.

Angeliki Sofou

Legal Advisor and Compliance Officer

Mrs. Angeliki Sofou took over the position of Legal Advisor and Compliance Officer of Athenian Brewery in May 2014.

In 2002 she was included as a Specialist in Competition Law in the Legal Services Department of the Hellenic Telecommunications and Post Commission. She is a lawyer at the Supreme Court, an active member of the Athens Bar Association, participates in the Association for the Study of Commercial and Economic Law, the Institute of European and International Criminal Law and the Association of Legal, Philosophical and Historical Research.

Eric Janssen

Οικονομικός Διευθυντής

Ο κύριος Eric Andrianus Janssen ανέλαβε Οικονομικός Διευθυντής της Αθηναϊκής Ζυθοποιίας τον Σεπτέμβριο του 2018.
Προηγούμενη του θέση ήταν αυτή του Διευθυντή Στρατηγικού Σχεδιασμού στη μεγαλύτερη εταιρία του Ομίλου HEINEKEN παγκοσμίως, τη HEINEKEN του Μεξικό.
Ο Eric ξεκίνησε να εργάζεται στην HEINEKEN το 1998 και έχει διατελέσει στο παρελθόν μεταξύ άλλων Οικονομικός Διευθυντής της HEINEKEN στα Κανάρια Νησιά, Οικονομικός Διευθυντής Global Commerce στην έδρα της εταιρίας στην Ολλανδία και Οικονομικός Διευθυντής στη Zagorka στη Βουλγαρία.

NIKOS PARASCHOPOULOS

Supply Chain Director

Nikos Paraschopoulos has been Supply Chain Director at Athenian Brewery since 2024. He began his career at Ecolab and later joined Athenian Brewery as a shift brewer at the Patras plant in 2001. Over the years, he worked in all of Athenian Brewery’s plants in various roles, such as TPM Coordinator, Packaging Supervisor, Quality & Malting Supervisor, and Brewing & Utilities Supervisor. Overall, he acquired a holistic experience in all areas of production. In 2016, he took on the role of Plant Manager at the IOLI Water Plant and shortly after, at the Patras plant. In 2020, he became the Plant Manager at HEINEKEN’s subsidiary in Italy, Comun Nuovo, and in 2023, he moved to HEINEKEN Italia’s headquarters, where he assumed the role of Customer Service & Logistics Manager. Among other responsibilities, he participated in the integration of the Logistics & Customer Service departments into a single unit aimed at improving customer service and increasing efficiency. He also played a key role in the company’s transformation program, particularly in implementing the Transportation Management Hub.
